You probably know by now, I am a big fan of budgeting. Some of you are probably cringing as I say the word “budget” but as Rachel Cruze says, “A budget gives you permission to spend.” If you do it right, it’s a total game changer.
We all have life dreams. To get a career you love, start a family, travel the world, or all of the above. If we are going to make our dreams a reality, we need a plan to get there. It’s the same with our financial dreams. Want to buy a house? A new car? Go on a vacation? Retire early? Pay off debt? We need a plan to get there too. A budget is that plan. It’s a written plan for your financial dreams.
Don’t be afraid to dream big fam. Start making some money moves that your future self and family will thank you for. Don’t think that things have to stay the same forever. If you want change, then your behavior needs to change.
I budget because I have dreams that I want to make a reality.
I want to buy my mom a new car.
I want to take my family on a vacation abroad.
I want to be a generous person and help those who need it.
I want to retire in my 50’s.
I want to send kids to Young Life camp so they can meet Jesus.
I want to travel the world.
I want to adopt children.
If I want my dreams to become a reality, I need a plan in place. This is why I budget. For my future self, my future children, my husband, and for my family.
We all have dreams. Write them down. Be specific. Make a plan to get there.
I hope this post helps you remember or start thinking about your dreams and goals.
Thanks for reading.
What’s something you can do this week that your future self will thank you for?
